About
The On Being Project gathered friends of the project in the redwoods at 1440 Multiversity filled with poetry, interviews, and community conversations. In between, folks were invited to take a walk, organically convene, and delve into the questions that surfaced for them.
Creative Direction
What are the elements of the environment of the redwoods that we can pull through the experience of The Gathering? How can the accompanying gifts and visuals throughout the event serve our community in the moment and also connect them back to these special moments afterward?
Senses of connection.
We are inviting guests to feel connected with each other and the place where we are gathering. There is a playful elemental of the natural world where a leaf beautifully lands on the ground to greet you or when a twig perfectly balances on a gorgeous stone. These found moments cultivate pure joy and quiet. I worked with Marie Urbin to curate some delicious illustrative pieces to sprinkle throughout the event.
When inspiration strikes.
I love working with artists and giving them room and time to bring their own wink to a project. I fell in love with an additional sketch Marie provided so we threw it into the project as an additional deliverable. She loved it so much that she turned it into an illustration and added her own recording of nature.
